Bringing home Pets in West Thurrock and South Stifford, Romford, London

Thinking about pets in West Thurrock and South Stifford, Romford, London? Here's what reputable sellers and rehomers expect you to ask.

A healthy animal from a responsible source is worth paying a fair price for - this isn't an area where the cheapest option is usually the best one. If a price seems unusually low for the breed or type, ask why before you ask anything else.

• Always see puppies or kittens with their mother, in the home they were raised in, before agreeing anything.
• Ask for proof of vaccinations, microchipping and any relevant health checks or breed-specific screening.
• Be very cautious of prices well below the typical range - it's a common sign of poor breeding conditions.
• A genuine seller won't rush you, and will happily answer questions about the animal's history and temperament.
